A bird’s-eye view of the city
Experience a view from the top with a scenic helicopter ride in Cape Town. The hour long ride departs from the V&A Waterfront and takes visitors high into the air to view the New 7 Wonders of Nature, Table Mountain, the historical Robben Island and the Cape Town Stadium along with the breathtaking views of Camps Bay and the Twelve Apostels and includes the world famous Chapman’s Peak drive. Table Mountain at sunset
During summer in Cape Town, Table Mountain offers sunset trips to the summit of the mountain via the famous cable way. Enjoy these spectacular views with your loved one and watch the city turn hues of orange and pink. The cable car is half price during summer, after 6pm in the month of February. It is also important to remember that during February the last cable car goes to the summit at 8h30pm. Booking in advance is essential to avoid a long wait.
Lindt Chocolate Studio
True chocolate lovers are invited to join the Lindt Chocolate Studio Courses. There are two options to choose from when booking the courses. The first option is evening fun classes that includes the Art of Cupcake Making, Chocolate Appreciation and Cookies, and Biscuits and Slices. These courses range between 1 hour to 2 hours and will teach you the basics of chocolate and baking with chocolate. The other option is the Master Classes and includes Art of the Macaroon course, Art of Cake Making course, Mouldings and Fillings course, Les Grandes Tartes & Tortes course, Classical Boutique Pastries course, Puddings, Custard and Crémes course and a Décor-Entry Level course. These courses range between 4 – 5 hours and booking in advance is essential.
Sunset boat cruises from the V&A Waterfront
This activity has been voted as one of the most romantic in Cape Town. The boat departs from the V&A Waterfront at dusk and takes visitors on a cruise to either Camps Bay or Table Bay before heading back and stopping at Granger Bay where visitors can enjoy a glass of complimentary sparkling wine while watching the sunset. Those who would like to spend a bit more can opt for the Dine and Cruise option, which includes a three course dinner at one of three restaurants situated in the V&A Waterfront after the sunset cruise. Booking is essential and can be done on their website.
Hot Air Balloon Ride
Guaranteed to impress, the hot air balloon ride is a spectacular experience that will not soon be forgotten. Daily rides of 1 hour is on offer during the months of November to April (weather-permitting) and will take couples on an unforgettable journey over the winelands, farms and orchards. The balloons depart at sunrise for a one hour journey before landing on safe ground followed by a Champagne breakfast at Grande Roche Hotel in Paarl. Bookings are essential and weather permitting.
