Thali by Lindsy Terry
I am a huge Chef Liam Tomlin (of Chefs Warehouse fame) fan. With his Midas touch, Chef Liam transforms anything he lays his hands on into gold. Naturally, when I heard he was opening a new restaurant, called Thali within the city bowl, he had my interest immediately.
I adore this little Indian restaurant in Gardens (a short 10min drive from Ellerman House), for a quick and cozy lunch with friends. With the small dish style menu that encourages sharing, Thali is perfect for tables of 2 to 4 people. The food is on the highest level and service is outstanding.
I recommend sharing the ‘Thali for 2’ set menu as it is a beautifully curated journey (similar to Chef Liam’s other restaurants). If you visit Thali in the summer, then ask for a table in Courtyard – my favourite spot.
They don’t take reservations, but luckily it is located in a bustling hub with many options available for pre-meal drinks for you to enjoy while you wait for a space to become available.
