Constantia Glen by Ailsa Burns.
‘The cool climate wines is what lures you there, but it’s the spectacular views that keep you coming back’, is what Revenue Manager for Ellerman House, Ailsa Burns has to say when she is asked about her favourite weekend jaunt.
Constantia Glen is one of the Cape’s most picturesque wine estates. With its unique location just below Constantia Nek in the country’s oldest wine region, Constantia. ‘It’s the perfect place to enjoy a lazy afternoon’, says Ailsa. With its close proximity to Cape Town and an easy addition to the peninsula tour, it’s the perfect detour for lunch. As long as you are comfortable with saying goodbye to the rest of the day, because you won’t be able to tear yourself away.
Ailsa’s advice: You must get a table on the front terrace. Try their South African platter and pair with a bottle of the Constantia Glen Three.
Enjoy!
