1000Drawings started in 2006 when a delivery bakkie was stolen making it impossible for the Soup Kitchen in Johannesburg to feed the hundreds of homeless. It was started as a fundraising rescue plan where anyone could donate an A5 doodle drawing which would then sell for R100 a piece.

Night of 1000Drawings has since grown to a popular annual event in Johannesburg and, for the first time, in Cape Town. All funds raised will go to upgrading the Thomas Wildschutt School in Retreat with the help of social upliftment enterprises.

Tickets can be bought on quicket.co.za for only R100 and ticket holders are automatically entitled to one drawing. The Night of 1000Drawings will take place in Cape Town at the Good Hope Centre on 28 August, 2014. Visit their website for more information www.1000drawingsct.co.za
