Meet Siya, our wonderful Guest Liaison.
“At the beginning of lockdown, it was very difficult to adjust to what the “new normal” was supposed to be. Having been on the move and having a routine of going to work, seeing my colleagues, and our beloved guests, it definitely was a struggle to not be able to do that.
Although, having time to spend with my family in Cape Town and learning new and creative ways to keep my mind occupied has been a delight. Being able to work on myself during this time has been amazing. I’ve learned to appreciate and enjoy the little things a lot more than I used to.
Ellerman House has been a great support and consider myself very fortunate to work for this family.
Slowly coming back to work has given me purpose again. Getting to see my colleagues has been great and hearing about how they have dealt with the pandemic has been interesting. Although the cherry on top for me will be when we can have our guests return back to Ellerman House so that we may continue doing what we do best once again.”
“Your hardest times often lead to the greatest moments of your life. Keep going. Tough situations build strong people in the end.” -Roy T. Bennett
