Every year, Ellerman House hosts ArtAngels, a charity auction and cocktail party in aid of The Click Foundation, a non-profit educational organisation that is helping to shape the future for people in South Africa. Established in 2012 in response to South Africa’s education crisis, the foundation aims to give underprivileged primary school learners access to world-class education a means to learn through unconventional technology-based programmes.

From the beginning, The Click Foundation has been working with a foundation-phase online English literacy programme called Reading Eggs. The programme supports the initial acquisition of literacy skills and offers learners the opportunity to work at their own pace through fun and enjoyable activities, songs and rewards, navigating their own journey.

To date the ArtAngels events have raised over R14 million to help improve literacy in South Africa. Along with fantastic food, wine and entertainment, ArtAngels includes a limited auction of fine art generously donated by some of South Africa’s leading artists as well as a selection of exquisite travel packages.

This year with the support of Everard Read Gallery, ArtAngels expanded to London where Rhino Africa, in collaboration with Ellerman House and Londolozi, curated a special cocktail party and dinner. The purpose of this exclusive event was to raise funds to help educate an additional 10,000 children in rural South Africa in partnership with The Click Foundation, Good Work Foundation and Wildlife Act. This goal was realised with a fantastically successful event and auction.
